The CGI is a multidisciplinary post-graduate academic institute established in 2005, under the initiative of Professor Dr. Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Mahidol. The Occupy London Stock Exchange protests are underway and progressing peacefully, however, numbers are far lower than organisers anticipated, and there was little evidence of the kind of grassroots pro-democracy movement that has captured the public imagination in New York.

The protesters, denied access to the LSE and to Paternoster Square itself by a thin line of police, were held by a loose cordon near the steps of St Paul's. Tourists made their way in and out of the crowd to get views of the cathedral, and there were more cameras on show than placards. Activists in the Guy Fawkes masks favoured by the online Anonymous group queued in Starbucks.

Far from being the diverse mass of interest groups and average Londoners that organisers had predicted, the crowd, briefly led in a call and response by megaphones from the steps, were a mix of students and familiar left wing activists.

There were brief scuffles when a few protesters tried to block Ludgate Hill, and when Wikileaks founder Julian Assange was spotted and run to ground in a souvenir shop, but the bulk of both scrums were made up of photographers and film crews.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has joined about 800 people at a heavily policed rally in London's financial heart, part of worldwide protests against corporate greed and budget cutbacks.

The demonstrators, some of them masked, were pushed back by police as they marched from St Paul's Cathedral to the London Stock Exchange, around the corner from the famous landmark.

There were only minor scuffles with five people arrested, three for assaulting police officers and two for public order offences, Scotland Yard said.

Before visiting Sri Lanka, you may need to get the following vaccinations and medications for vaccine-preventable diseases and other diseases you might be at risk for at your destination:(Note: Your doctor or health-care provider will determine what you will need, depending on factors such as your health and immunization history, areas of the country you will be visiting, and planned activities.)

To have the most benefit, see a health-care provider at least 4–6 weeks before your trip to allow time for your vaccines to take effect and to start taking medicine to prevent malaria, if you need it.

Even if you have less than 4 weeks before you leave, you should still see a health-care provider for needed vaccines, anti-malaria drugs and other medications and information about how to protect yourself from illness and injury while traveling.

CDC recommends that you see a health-care provider who specializes in Travel Medicine.  Find a travel medicine clinic near you. If you have a medical condition, you should also share your travel plans with any doctors you are currently seeing for other medical reasons.

If your travel plans will take you to more than one country during a single trip, be sure to let your health-care provider know so that you can receive the appropriate vaccinations and information for all of your destinations. Long-term travelers, such as those who plan to work or study abroad, may also need additional vaccinations as required by their employer or school.

Although yellow fever is not a disease risk in Sri Lanka, the government requires some travelers arriving from countries with risk of yellow fever virus transmission to present proof of yellow fever vaccination. Routine vaccines are recommended even if you do not travel. Although childhood diseases, such as measles, rarely occur in the United States, they are still common in many parts of the world. A traveler who is not vaccinated would be at risk for infection.

Sri Lanka is a very good place in the Asian region to host beach games said President of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), Sheikh Ahamed Al-Fahad Al-Sabah. He was speaking at a press conference held to enlighten the media about the Second Asian Beach Games currently underway here in Oman.
“Sri Lanka has very good beaches and it will be suitable for many sporting events as far as beach games are concerned,” the OCA President added.
The National Olympic Committee (NOC) has sent around 14 observers to the 2nd Asian Beach Games. They will study how the games are being organised and expects to use that experience in organising the First South Asian Beach Games to be held in Sri Lanka in 2011. Hambantota will be hosting the ICC Cricket World Cup and then the South Asian Beach Games.
“We have sent these observers with a purpose. They will make sure they will get knowledge as to how this type of events are organised. That will help us in organising the first ever South Asian Beach Games in Hambantota,” said President of NOC Sri Lanka, Hemasiri Fernando.
Sri Lanka will try to prove its organisational skills before the deadline to present the formal bid for the 2018 Commonwealth Games in May next year. Maldives and Bangladesh also put forward their bids to host the next Beach Games. However all South Asian National Olympic Committees gave their consent for Sri Lanka’s last minute bid. (HW)

The 1st South Asian Beach Games are scheduled to be held in Hambantota, Sri Lanka between 8 to 14 October 2011. The opening ceremony will be held at the Hambantota Beach Stadium, located in Hambantota district. 359 athletes from eight South Asian nations will compete.

Marathon swimming and sailing were to be contested in Arugam Bay while the remaining sports will be contested in Hambantota. However later organizers decided to move the events closer locations, Tangalle and Tissamaharama. 26 events in 10 sports are currently scheduled to be held.^[5] Triathlon and beach bodybuilding were dropped from the program due to a lack of participants.^[6]

Occupy Wall Street demonstrators protest economic inequality and power of US economic institutions

NEW YORK – Thousands of anti-Wall Street demonstrators marched on New York's financial district on Wednesday, October 5, to protest economic inequality and the power of US financial institutions.

"I am a mother. I want a better world for my children," Lisa Clapier, 46, a producer who lives in Venice, California, told Reuters.

Nearly 5,000 protestors of the Occupy Wall Street movement gathered in New York's financial district to denounce the Wall Street bailout in 2008, which they say left banks to enjoy huge profits while average Americans suffered under high unemployment and job insecurity with little help from the federal government.

"They got bailed out, we got sold out" and "Join our ranks, stop the banks" were among slogans chanted by protestors in San Francisco.

A dozen people were arrested in New York, including one who was charged with assault on a police officer who was knocked from his scooter, according to police spokesman Paul Browne.

Others who were arrested had tried to break through a police barricade, Browne said.

How to write an Annual report for your company

Annual reports are formal financial statements that are published yearly and sent to company stockholders and various other interested parties. The reports assess the year's operations and discuss the companies' view of the upcoming year and the companies' place and prospects in their industries. Both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations produce annual reports.
Annual reports have been a Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requirement for businesses owned by the public since 1934. Companies meet this requirement in many ways. At its most basic, an annual report includes:

• General description of the industry or industries in which the company is involved.
• Audited statements of income, financial position, and cash flow and notes to the statements providing details for various line items.
• A management's discussion and analysis (MD&A) of the business's financial condition and the results that the company has posted over the previous two years.
• A brief description of the company's business in the most recent year.
• Information related to the company's various business segments.
• Listing of the company's directors and executive officers, as well as their principal occupations, and, if a director, the principal business of the company that employs him or her.
• Market price of the company's stock and dividends paid.

Some companies provide only this minimum amount of information. Annual reports of this type usually are only a few pages in length and produced in an inexpensive fashion. The final product often closely resembles a photocopied document. For these companies, the primary purpose of an annual report is simply to meet legal requirements.
